As part of Net Atlantic’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of others, the team headed to Dead Horse Beach in Salem, Massachusetts last Thursday to clean it up and make it safer for beachgoers in the busy months to come.
The event was organized by Net Atlantic’s volunteer and entertainment committee, which hosts quarterly events to support our local community.
Dead Horse Beach is part of the Salem Willows neighborhood and amusement park. Shaded by the beautiful white willow trees it was named for, the park has been a family-friendly summertime destination for locals and tourists alike since the mid-1800s.
The weather was unseasonably warm, and the sun was shining brightly, so it felt like summer was already upon us as we spread out along the beach and got to work picking up trash, broken glass, and other debris. As you can see from the photo below, we picked up around 10 bags full of trash and removed them from the beach.
All that hard work made us hungry, so after the clean-up we took a break to grab lunch at the Willows’ many food stands and ice cream shops before heading back to Net Atlantic HQ. In all, a great day for a great cause!
